A Frannie story - I don't know exactly when but happened into Wentworth Lumber and did my 'check in' with Frannie. He was bussily working on his most recent acquisition - a tractor trailer full of shoes he had brought at auction. He donated and sent the entire shipment of shoes to somewhere overseas. What a big heart he had !

I recall going through one tractor-trailer full of shoes he had bought, and he told me to help myself to a pair. I picked out the most outrageous pair I could find as a joke, as the pickings were slim. The best way I can describe them is a strange mix of platform and bowling shoes. They were great for Halloween or punishment when losing bets, and they held a spot of honor on my shelf for a while.

I used to work with him on Sundays at his warehouses, where he sold a lot of his bulk lot, and auction finds direct to contractors, and his motto was always “give ‘til it hurts, then keep on giving.” Thanks for sharing your memory of him.
